[ He gives Leona a small huff and leans in to bump the side of his head against his. ]


I don't doubt you. I'm just being realistic.

[ His expression softens as he watches him. ]

I know you say being a second prince doesn't mean anything, especially with your brother and his son around now... but I know you love your home and people. Even if you act like you're cursed to never admit it.


[ He smiles wryly and bumps his nose against his. ]

We'll enter adulthood and things may change. I just want us to be prepared for what is to come, and be sure we want to make the effort. For the record—

[He buries his head into Vil’s shoulder. Huffing into it. It’s rare for him to admit such things. But Vil is worth the effort. ]

I’ll say it again. If it helps. I know we will have ta figure it out, for now, this works.

[ He lifts a hand to touch the back of Leona's head, feeling his heart race faster at that admission. Leona doesn't talk about his feelings often, but saying that...

He draws his fingers into his hair to stroke, leaning his cheek against his head and turning to kiss the back of Leona's little lion ear. ]

Then let's focus on now.

[ Vil just. Worries. ]

... are you hungry? We've been reading for a while. We can finish writing this up later.

[ His arm around Leona's back slowly, slowly... slides down to let his fingers brush against the base of his tail. ]

[At heart, he is a simple guy. He doesn’t ask for too much, and he’s kind of dim in the ways of many things. His intelligence in his good subjects far outshines his lacking social prowess.

He seems pleased to see Vil agree!

He nuzzles into the hand touching his ears and waves his tail curiously. ]

What kinda hungry are you talkin’ bout?

[ This can’t be food hungry if there is tail touching!]

[ He looks amused before giving the base of his tail a little stroke and moving his fingers up Leona's back, while his face moves in to brush his lips to the side of his neck. ]

I do mean your stomach though. It's been making more grumbling more than you've been purring.

I won't want food if ya keep doing that.

[ The purring does keep up, and he tilts his head just for Vil. He likes the feeling against his neck. Forget his grumbling stomach, honestly. He just wants to keep this up. ]

Y'been missing me lately? I know we haven't had a lotta time.

[ He CAN provide this much for Vil. ]

When don't I miss you?

[ Honest. He isn't the kind to say things without meaning them. His lips move across Leona's throat and he kisses up to his chin. ]

Even when you're getting on my nerves. [ Affectionately- ] You leave enough for me to think of when we're apart.

[ He pulls back to run his fingers through Leona's hair. ]

We don't have much time now, either. I have to return to my dorm soon, so we may as well eat first. Actual eating. I'm just leaving you something to miss me with.

[ He tilts his head right into this affections, snorting a little.

He leans in to return some of the kisses, pressing kisses to his lips, his chin and on the side of his neck before Vil pulls away.]

Y’could always stay here.

[ They should eat before anything else, his stomach growls again in protest.]

I could, but those spudlings would have a time of it if I wasn't there to keep them in shape. Pomefiore will not be slacking on any of our standards.


[ He chuckles then, slowly standing and extending an arm to help Leona off the floor. ]

To the cafeteria, then. I'll be leaving my study materials here.

[ He isn't going to say it out loud, but they will be his excuse on returning to the dorm to "collect" them. ]

[LAZILY AS EVER, Leona will follow Vil to the cafeteria for food.

Maybe over dinner he can discuss those finer details of the trip with Vil.]
