[ If there's one thing he's exceptionally good at, it's making it seem like there is absolutely nothing wrong at all with him. If even Rook, who watches him more closely than anyone, can't tell anything is off, then he must be doing a good job of it.
It's been some weeks since that trip, and he definitely hasn't wanted to think about it. But at least coming to the botanical garden gives him something of a distraction, and since he's not a beastman, it's not like he can tell by scent that someone is here. No one should be at this time, anyway.
He's just going to busy himself with gathering some flowers he needs and humming to himself. ]
[ He doesn't need to see him, or smell him. The very tune Vil is humming could be heard by anyone with ears. Footsteps, and the voice itself dictate who has trampled onto his sleeping grounds...yet again.
He opens one eye and watches the gathering for now, any closer and Leona is liable to be stepped on, or completely disturbed.
He wonders, briefly, if Vil always hums to himself when he is alone. ]

Anyway, he thinks he's alone so of course he's going to hum and sing a bit. He needs to keep his voice trained after all and he actually seems like he's enjoying himself while collecting some cuttings. ]
[He won’t interrupt him, honestly. He also won’t admit he likes hearing Vil’s singing voice, it’s better than his speaking voice for sure. Not as infuriating, not as annoying.

That's hardly healthy. And of course I'm going to ask you questions. It's bizarre enough that someone who leads the Spelldrive team as well as you do is being this lackadaisical where it comes to your academics.

[ He frowns, but he can't really argue. Still, picking those flowers keeps him near him, they're scentless and pretty but ultimately only serve as a soft base to the tree and nothing more. He does reach out over Leona's head to pick the ones near it though, fingers brushing across the side of his ear. ]
... here I thought you knew that resting on them makes them more durable. The flowers help with making the ground by the tree comfortable. They're called shelter blossoms for a reason. Some will put them into pillows for better rest, because even the smallest amount can make it comfortable.
[ He's not sure why he tells him that, but. Maybe it's just a way to rile him up too? See some life from him? ]
If you're using them as your excuse, at least least be respectful for what they provide.

His touch is light, though— he's taking care to pick them out without breaking any hair or hurting him. All the while he's more than aware of the deep rumbling sounds from Leona, too. ]
[Small simple motions like that are enough to make the biggest cats purr. He isn’t so complicated to deny someone picking flowers out of his hair feels somewhat nice.
He keeps his face turned away, Vil is still very close to him and still not letting him resume his depression nap. It’s rude. Vil is so rude. ]
[ He actually would leave, and was planning to after giving him a little provocation there. But excuse him, he's not taking the remark that he's not worth the effort sitting down-
But he blinks when Leona brings his face close and lifts an eyebrow, not moving his own away. ]
